Alpine Challange 2025
Coast Medic Ambulance Supports the Cornish Alpine Challenge 2025
Coast Medic Ambulance was proud to once again provide full medical cover for the 2025 Cornish Alpine Challenge — a demanding and scenic off-road cycling events in the South West.
Now in its fifth year, the Cornish Alpine Challenge is an established endurance ride attracting cyclists from across the region. Organised in partnership with dedicated sponsors and run by a local cycling club, the event offers three challenging courses of 12, 25, and 50 miles — all set in the breathtaking and rugged terrain of Cornwall’s iconic Clay Country, often referred to as the Cornish Alps.
Coast Medic deployed a 4x4 response vehicle crewed by a Paramedic and Emergency Care Assistant. Much of the event takes place on off-road cycle trails — many of which are not normally open to the public — requiring agile and responsive medical planning to ensure participant safety throughout the day.
We’re proud to have supported this non-competitive, community-driven event that not only tests rider stamina but also raises vital funds for local causes. This year’s entrance fees go toward local charities and Rotary-supported initiatives, and participants are encouraged to raise their own sponsorships as well. Since its inception in 2021, the challenge has raised over £20,000 for charitable causes — with more than £6,500 raised in 2024 alone.
The 2025 event was no exception, drawing strong numbers and a fantastic community atmosphere — and we’re pleased to report a safe and successful day thanks to the coordination between organisers, volunteers, and our medical response teams.
