Medical Services for Organisations

Medical Services for Organisations

Increasing pressure on NHS ambulance crews have led to longer response times, meaning immediate medical assistance is not always available when it is urgently needed. For businesses and education establishments, this delay can significantly impact outcomes in medical emergencies, where every minute matters.

Our medical services are designed to provide a highly cost effective solution to this challenge.  With on call clinicians including Paramedics and Nurses, we are able to provide an onsite response within minutes, bringing immediate assessment and treatment to scene.

We are also able to support low acuity requirements such as welfare, safeguarding and mental health, alongside our emergency capability.

As a CQC Registered provider, we are able to bring enhanced skills that a first aid and student nurse services are unable to deliver directly.

Cornwall's largest educational campus relies upon our service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide medical response to students and staff.

We provide ambulances staffed by HCPC registered Paramedics or Nurses who are able to deliver advanced clinical care during urgent or complex transfers, as well as patient transport crews for lower-acuity journeys and routine hospital discharges.

The majority of our clinicians also work within frontline NHS services, bringing current operational experience and high clinical standards to each and every transfer.

All members of our team undergo the same statutory and mandatory training, safeguarding requirements and enhanced security checks expected of NHS ambulance staff.  This ensures patients receive safe, professional and reassuring care throughout their journey.

Partnership with Falmouth University

We understand that arranging an ambulance transfer for a family member can be a worrying time.

Every patient matters to us and our teams take pride in ensuring that each journey is handled with care, dignity and compassion.

Many patients travel with us during times when they may be feeling unwell, anxious, or vulnerable and our crews work hard to make every transfer as comfortable, reassuring and pleasant as possible.

From the moment we arrive, our focus is on providing professional clinical care alongside kindness and respect, treating every patient as we would want our own loved ones to be treated.

Our staff consists of experienced clinicians many of whom work frontline for the NHS alongside delivering outstanding care through our services.

Our clinical governance ensure the highest standards of care are delivered within a defined scope of practice for each clinical grade.  Every member of our team is vetted and holds DBS checks and undertakes mandatory training each year.

Working with other health care providers

We are a CQC Registered Provider, our care is monitored and regulated by the Care Quality Commission, enabling us to provide medical services that go beyond the scope of school nursing.

We offer specialist ambulance transfers between the Isles of Scilly and mainland healthcare services, supporting patients who require safe and reliable transport from the islands to mainland health facilities.

Our service is designed to assist with low-acuity emergency transfers, urgent medical transport and routine patient journeys between the islands and mainland treatment facilities.

Through our partnership with Penzance Heliport, we are able to coordinate rapid and efficient patient transfers from the Isles of Scilly to mainland hospitals, helping patients access the care they need without unnecessary delays. This service is particularly valuable for hospital appointments, investigations, specialist treatments, and non-critical emergency transfers where patients require medical support during the journey.

Coast Medic can deploy experienced clinicians to the Isles of Scilly, who are able to fly out to the islands, assess patients and provide clinical care throughout the transfer.

Our paramedics can accompany patients during helicopter flights between the islands and the mainland, before continuing care by ambulance to the receiving hospital or healthcare facility.

With expertise in marine and remote healthcare environments, Coast Medic is uniquely positioned to support the logistical challenges of providing patient transport from the Isles of Scilly, ensuring each transfer is safe, coordinated and clinically appropriate from island to hospital door.
