IntoTri Events make triathlons accessible to everyone. We are delighted to have been chosen as their 2026 medical provider.

Coast Medic is pleased to announce a new partnership with IntoTri, who have selected Coast Medic as their official medical provider for the 2026 event season. This collaboration brings together IntoTri’s reputation for delivering high-quality endurance events with Coast Medic’s clinically led approach to event medical services.

Supporting Safe and Well-Run Triathlon Events

Triathlon events present unique medical challenges. Participants transition between open water swimming, cycling, and running; often across large, complex environments with changing conditions.

By partnering with Coast Medic, IntoTri ensures that each event benefits from professional pre-hospital care teams, specialist medical planning and rapid response capabilities designed specifically for endurance sport.

Coast Medic’s experienced clinicians and event medical planners will work closely with IntoTri’s organisers to deliver safe, well-managed events for athletes, volunteers and spectators alike.

Specialist Medical Support for Endurance and Water-Based Events

Coast Medic has extensive experience supporting events that take place in challenging environments including coastal locations, open water venues, and large outdoor event sites. For IntoTri events, Coast Medic can deploy a range of specialist resources including:

  • Rapid response medical teams positioned along cycling and running routes
  • Medical treatment centres capable of assessing and treating injuries and illness onsite
  • Frontline specification ambulances ready to convey patients to hospital if required
  • Marine response capability, supporting open water swimming elements where required

This layered approach ensures medical teams can respond quickly while maintaining safe coverage across the entire event footprint.

Clinically Led Event Planning

Every IntoTri event supported by Coast Medic will benefit from comprehensive medical planning in line with UK event safety guidance, including the principles outlined in The Purple Guide.

Coast Medic’s clinical and operational team will work alongside IntoTri to:

  • Assess medical risks associated with the event environment
  • Determine the appropriate level of medical cover
  • Develop event medical plans
  • Liaise with local authorities and Safety Advisory Groups where required

This ensures that each event is not only safe but also proportionate and cost-effective for organisers.

Experienced Clinical Teams

Coast Medic’s teams include paramedics, emergency medical technicians, first responders, nurses, and specialist event clinicians with extensive experience working in busy event environments.

Their ability to provide onsite treatment, clinical decision making, and ambulance conveyance where required means athletes can compete with confidence knowing professional medical care is available should they need it.

Looking Ahead to the 2026 Season

Both organisations are excited about the season ahead. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to safe, professionally run endurance events where athlete welfare is always the priority.

By combining IntoTri’s expertise in delivering memorable triathlon experiences with Coast Medic’s CQC-registered ambulance service and specialist event medical capability, the 2026 season promises to be both exciting and exceptionally well supported from a medical perspective.

What is the Purple Guide? The The Purple Guide to Health, Safety and Welfare at events is the UK’s recognised standard for planning safe events. It provides comprehensive guidance on all aspects of event delivery, including crowd safety, infrastructure and medical provision. For event organisers, the Purple Guide is not optional reading; it is the benchmark used by: Local Authorities Safety Advisory Groups (SAGs) Emergency Services Licensing bodies Failure to follow its principles can expose organisers to legal liability, particularly if an incident occurs and medical provision is found to be inadequate.

Delivering a successful event involves more than entertainment, logistics and crowd management. Event organisers have a legal duty of care to ensure that everyone attending the event is protected from foreseeable harm and that appropriate medical support is available if something goes wrong. Too often, event organisers assume that booking a “first aid provider” satisfies this requirement. In reality, there is a significant difference between basic first aid provision and regulated medical services. Understanding this difference is essential not only for public safety but also for protecting organisers from serious legal and reputational consequences. This article aims to explain the difference to help event organisers consider what's right for their event.
